Hello Friends!
The holiday excitement is in the air, can you feel it? The last remnants of Halloween candy have disappeared (guilty) and the spooky decorations are gradually being replaced with touches of Christmas! The holiday season is upon us as that familiar buzz fills the air! It’s time to embrace the warmth and joy that this special time of years brings! ✨
The Countdown to Thanksgiving
I can hardly believe it, but I’m already deep into planning Thanksgiving dinner for 20! It’s a challenge I absolutely love. The chaos of preparing a feast for family and friends is a beautiful blend of anticipation and a dash of stress, but let me tell you, the joy of gathering everyone around the table is worth every moment. From the turkey that needs to be just right to the pumpkin pie that always seems to vanish too quickly, these details are what make the season so special.
A Symphony of Senses
Everywhere I turn, the signs of the holidays are starting to bloom. Holiday commercials are popping up on our screens, each one more heartwarming than the last. There’s something magical about seeing familiar faces and heartwarming stories that remind us of the spirit of giving and togetherness. And let’s not forget the music! The satellite radio in my car is now a symphony of holiday classics that bring back memories and create new ones with every note. Isn’t it amazing that holiday music through the ages still never gets old! I can still feel the same wonder I did as a little girl, and I’m turning 70!!
Twinkling Lights and Cozy Nights
As I begin to hang my holiday lights, there’s a sense of nostalgia and excitement that washes over me. The glow of the lights not only brightens my home but also my spirit. It’s a reminder that even in the darkest days of winter, there’s beauty and warmth to be found. These twinkling lights set the stage for cozy nights filled with laughter, love, and perhaps a little too much hot chocolate!
Embracing the Spirit of the Season
With every holiday season, I find that the most cherished moments are not just about the grand meals or extravagant decorations, but about the connections we make. Whether it’s sharing stories with loved ones or helping those in need, it’s the spirit of the season that truly makes it magical.
One of my favorite traditions is to step into my garden as the season winds down. Each year, I cut the last remaining herbs, form them into a tiny bouquet, and pick a huge lemon from my tree, feeling a deep sense of satisfaction as I stuff the turkey with the last of the harvest. It’s my way of showing gratitude for the garden and marking the end of the season in such a spiritual way. Those small acts of connection with nature bring a special touch to my Thanksgiving preparations.
Join the Celebration!
As we dive deeper into this joyous time, let’s remember to take a moment to breathe and appreciate what really matters. Make time for family game nights, cozy movie marathons, or simply enjoying a quiet evening with a good book and a cup of tea.
