As autumn begins to paint the leaves in vibrant hues here on Long Island, my thoughts turn to Florida, especially my beloved Naples. In the wake of Hurricane Milton, I want to reach out to all my neighbors and friends in Naples, and all across Florida with heartfelt prayers, hoping you all made it through safely. My years spent in Olde Naples were filled with warmth, joy, and unforgettable moments, and my heart goes out to all of you during this challenging time.
Having my pretty little condo just five blocks up from the Gulf in Naples was more than just a getaway; it was a sanctuary that allowed me to escape into a world of sunshine and serenity. It was a place for glorious sunsets every evening, charming shops, and world-class restaurants. I loved immersing myself in the community and meeting the wonderful people who make Naples so special. One of my favorite spots was Audrey’s of Naples, my go-to consignment shop, where I discovered countless treasures. You all know how much I adore thrifting!
A few years ago, I made the difficult decision to sell my little piece of paradise. My Dad was in the last years of his life, and I wanted to treasure each and every moment I had with him, and for that, I have no regrets. He left us two years ago. It was a time filled with love and sacrifice, and while I wasn’t ready to spend entire winters in Naples, the memories I created there will always hold a special place in my heart.
With winter looming ahead, I find myself yearning to visit Naples again. I dream of walking along those beautiful white sands, watching the sunset paint the sky in breathtaking colors, and reconnecting with the lovely friends and neighbors I’ve missed. I also want to reach out to the Naples Ladies Social Group, whom I follow from here on Long Island. I hope you all weathered the storm and are looking forward to brighter days ahead. Your strength and resilience inspire me, and I can’t wait to see the spirit of Naples shine even brighter.
If you’re reading this and feel that same pull toward our beloved Naples, let’s celebrate the memories we’ve shared and look forward to new adventures. I encourage you to embrace those heartfelt connections and cherish the beauty of this idyllic place.
My Florida friends, please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. I will continue to share my journey and the love I hold for Naples, until I return again.
Here’s to the magic of thrifting, the warmth of friendship, and the beauty of sunsets over the Gulf. Let’s keep our hearts intertwined, no matter where we are… ❤️
